Christmas Vacation Drinking Game

My families favorite thing to do at Christmas time is to get together as a family and sing carols DRINK BEER!!!  We do it playing this awesome Drinking Game for the movie Christmas Vacation.

Along with those rules... we incorporate jello shots/trivia questions. Each person takes a turn answering a Christmas Vacation Trivia Question during the movie. If that person gets the question right they can choose someone else in the group to eat the jello shot *&* if they get it wrong... well they take the jello shot. I use Aunt Bethany's recipe of course.... Lime Jello Vodka Shots topped with a cheap cereal that resembles cat food. (yes, a cheap off brand cereal is key because cat food shouldn't taste good)

During the pool scene... we hand out a tiny margarita to everyone.

During the family dinner scene, my sister passed around a tray of Turkey Jerky.

I don't have a picture of it... But at the eggnog scene with Cousin Eddie... everyone gets a cup of eggnog too. Homemade of course.

The "Circus" Tree

Our "Circus" Tree is the last tree for me to blog from Christmas 2013. (I'm slow--- I know)
Calling it a Circus Tree all started back when I was a child. My mom usually had 14 trees decorated in our house. The tree that she put in the family room had a shit ton of multi-colored lights and all of our sentimental ornaments. So since the tree wasn't an actual theme, just everything and anything, we decided to call it the Circus Tree. So my Husband and I incorporated a Circus Tree in our own home.

And here she is folks. Our Family Circus Tree 2013

I may not look like it from the picture... pictures never do justice. However, in person its best not to look directly at the tree. (Surviving Christmas! haha)

I try to incorporate all Christmas items on my tree: Gingerbread People, Churches, Holiday Mailboxes, Cups of Cocoa, Snowflakes, Candy Canes, Santa, Penguins, Polar Bears, Holly, etc, etc, etc.

Here are some ornaments from my tree.

Get started on your Christmas letter yet???

A great way to simplify your holiday season is to keep up to date on your holiday letter throughout the year. It doesn't have to be super fancy right now. Just write down the important things that you would like to include in the letter as it happens. It definitely will save you time at Christmas and you won't be racking your brain for stuff to include.  (Or possibly forget to include something.)

Happy Easter

Happy Easter!

I hope everyone is having a great Easter Weekend & getting some good weather.
Today is actually beautiful in our neck of the woods and I am happily rocking a maxi. Bring on more weather like this... a girl can get used to it!
We honestly have a very laid back weekend planned and are truly thankful for that. Tonight we will be dying our Easter Eggs and tonight we will lay out a dish of carrots & lettuce for the Easter Bunny.
Sunday we will make our way to church and come back home to host a very low key lunch.

How are y'all spending this Easter???

Throwback Thursday

Hello All! Sorry it has been awhile but the snow has melted here and I'm kick starting myself into high gear around the house/yard. It's amazing what some fresh air can do for you :)

The husband, kiddo & I went antique shopping on Monday & I saw so many Annalee santas.

So in honor of Throwback Thursday... I thought I would share with everyone how darn cute they are. :)

I did not pick any up and I am sorta kicking myself in the booty for not. But I was practicing self control. Curse self control.

They also had this little Annalee gem there too. With Easter right around the corner I was half tempted to pull the trigger on her as well.... but self control kicked in. Grrr

Well here is wishing everyone a fantastic Thursday & a little self control (just not as much as I have)
